Reinventing an 80-year-old Herbalist shop for the modern age.‍

A‍bout The Herbalists

Lydia and Arman Mehmet are a couple with a passion for the art and science of herbalism. After taking over a traditional herbalists business with over 80 years of history.

‍

Project Background

Lydia and Arman needed a full brand identity and a new modern website in order to realise their lofty ambition of sharing their passion for herbal studies with the masses.

The Herbalists are eager for more people to learn about herbs and honour the tradition they have inherited by sharing it with others, educating a community of herbalists on their path to better health.

The solution – Inform and Convert

The company needed a voice. A clear story and way of communicating across media channels that would be consistent, support the brand message and connect with customers ultimately leading to educating them and converting them to loyal brand ambassadors and customers.

I wrote the company’s brand values, tone of voice document to help other content producers match the verbal identity I created, website content, including an ‘Our Story’ page. Creating a coherent verbal identity helped the brand connect with its customers and create a story which supported the values and mission of the company.

For the visual design I created a strong identity working closely with both Lydia and Arman to realise their bold vision. I produced a colour palette, 3 logo lockups, sourced photography, created a logo book, brand book, stationery, marketing and print advertising campaign to help give the brand an organic and timeless look which both honours the tradition of the brand while creating a fresh modern identity which will grow with the company for another 80 years.

The solution – Inform and Convert

In order to meet the couple’s ambitious plans they required a full-fledged eCommerce website where clients can discover the concept and story behind the brand and herbalism before purchasing products securely online.

Visually, The Herbalists online presence needed to reflect its ethos, allowing users to understand how the system works. Clear navigational channel to direct visitors towards with a focus on conversions and strong call-to-action triggers to ensure the best sales conversion rates are achieved.
